The Dining Room On one side is the countered kitchen area. At the opposite side of the room there is a large wood-burning fireplace complete with logs. The windows have blinds to the floor on the terrace side. The furniture in the room is in keeping with the traditional style of the house. There are several interesting items in the room such as an antique wash stand. The large blackened beams in the ceiling have hooks in them which were used for drying tobacco leaves and hanging meat. There is a large television in this room. The telephone allows you the facility of receiving calls. If you wish to make outside calls then you would have to purchase a phone card - we can explain to you how this can easily be done. The gite has WIFI. The Kitchen Every modern kitchen appliance is for your use and these include, a large American type refrigerator with ice maker, dish washer, microwave, gas hob and oven, and a large selection of quality cooking utensils. Cutlery, crockery and eating utensils and there plus varied type glassware. There is a large double sink and drainer. In the unlikely event that there is something you need in the kitchen which is not there, let us know and we will be pleased to provide it. The Lounge The lounge has a restful feel to it and is an ideal place to read relax or just watch the television. There is audio equipment for your use. There are two bed-settees which can accommodate up to 3 additional guests. The entrance to the Lounge is directly opposite the door from the terrace. The Bedrooms There is a bedroom off from the dining room with a double bed and cot. The other bedrooms are along a passage which joins the new extension although you probably would not notice this from the inside. On the right hand side of the passage there is an area for cleaning equipment and general storage, and next to that is a toilet. On the left of the passage there are 2 bedrooms which open on to the terrace. The first room has a double bed and a carved wardrobe. The second room has 2 single beds. There is another bed that would suit a child of up to the age of twelve. The furnishings to these rooms is distinctly antique, and very pleasing to the eye. The wall colours of pale golden limestone and a pastel orange give these rooms a very warm ambiance.
General Babies have been considered in the way of high chairs, a pram and even a potty. There are small lockable wooden gates at either end of the terrace which leads to the steps. When you arrive the house will be clean. Clean sheets and pillow cases will be on the ready made beds. When you arrive there will be drinks in the fridge and some local produce when possible. If we are not there to greet you please go inside as the house will be left open. We will arrive soon. |
